Meet the FD (UK) Team

Board of Trustees from October 2012

Gill Herd, Trustee
Following a round-the-world trip in 2005, I was so taken with the plight of children in Cambodia I decided to train as an ESOL teacher and return to live and volunteer there for a year. I saw, first hand, the impact even a small amount of funding can have on children's lives if channelled effectively. Getting an education should be a basic human right but in reality this is not so. Since coming back to the UK I have continued to work closely with charities within Cambodia and have recently had the honour of becoming a trustee for Feeding Dreams (UK).

Lynda Ross, Trustee
I originally visited Cambodia in 2005 as part of a round the world trip and immediately fell in love with the country and its people. Although I am a qualified teacher in 2006 I also studied for my ESOL CELTA teaching qualification and returned to Cambodia. I spent 10 months as a volunteer teaching English in two organisations. I have continued to volunteer for Cambodian charities since returning to the UK drafting policies and procedures and funding applications. I am honoured to be a part of Feeding Dreams (UK)’s future and will continue to assist the dedicated staff I, and the previous Trustees, have met and to help the wonderful students who study so diligently under extremely difficult circumstances.

Liz Jennings, Trustee
I visited Cambodia in 2008 and was able to witness first hand the work being undertaken by the organisations the charity supports and the real difference this work can make to children's lives, their families and communities. I have a background in health and social care and as a trustee I will use this experience to support Feeding Dreams (UK) and look for opportunities to promote Feeding Dreams (UK) in continuing to raise much needed funds.

Anne Jennings, Trustee
Being a trustee gives me the opportunity to support Feeding Dreams (UK)’s important work of enabling access to education for children in Cambodia. I have a background in IT, so am able to use these skills for website management, fundraising and to assist in other areas as required.
